HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY?

7-10 CRYO TREATMENTS

This is what we call an entire system restart. This is where the body moves from the repair stage to the complete rehabilitation stage.

3-6 CRYO TREATMENTS

Your energy level increases and fresh, nutrient-enriched blood floods damaged body areas. You will begin to repair damaged body areas as joint pain is relieved.

1 CRYO TREATMENT

Instant relief from inflammation and soreness and is good for an energy boost that will last you for a full day.

What to Expect

The first step toward faster recovery and better health is to ensure you complete  our online waiver. The process takes under 5 minutes, and is important in identifying any health conditions which may preclude you from using our whole body cryotherapy chamber.

After completing the waiver we will go over the procedure and have you get dressed (see what to wear below).

Ready to begin your treatments? You will be given a full explanation of the process, benefits and safety instructions by a staff member to ensure an optimal experience. Prior to chamber entry, you will be provided with necessary protective wear.

Cold air therapy in the whole body chamber is a dry fresh, oxygenated air — due to the lack of moisture (humidity), and is not painful like an ice bath or immersion. During the treatment, your skin temperature will decrease between 30-45 degrees over 2.5 to 3.5 minutes inside the chamber. All first time customers start at 2.5 minutes. During your experience an attendant will be monitoring your every movement next to the chamber. The chamber doors are incapable of locking, so if you feel uncomfortable, you can easily exit the chamber at any time.

What to Wear

Because of the exposure to extremely cold temperatures, there are mandatory requirements for apparel to be worn in the chamber. You should arrive in or bring the following gym attire:

Men recommended: (swimsuit or shorts, T-shirt, NO METAL).

Women recommended: (swimsuit or shorts and top, NO METAL).

We will provide slippers and socks in various sizes for your use. Lake Mary Cryo Spa will also provide a complimentary pair of gloves for your use at the chamber.  This short duration of exposure would be safe even without the protective apparel. However, Lake Mary Cryo Spa insists that you wear the mandatory cover for your protection and comfort to maximize the benefits of your experience. Cooling these small vessel areas is not vital to the systemic reaction you will receive from the whole body skin cooling.

Heavy exercise or showering just prior to chamber treatment is not recommended, and do not apply lotions, oils, cologne or any alcohol based products just prior to treatment. A simple towel wiping the skin dry of any perspiration or oils will suffice. Makeup or deodorant on the skin are not a concern.

Post Whole Body Cryotherapy Chamber Warm-Up Process

After exiting from the Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) chamber, it is recommended that light cardiovascular movement be performed for a period of up to 10 minutes to further promote re-warming within the muscles which creates a more favorable circulatory effect to bring fresh blood into the muscles and promote the flushing of stagnant blood within the muscle tissue which contributes to muscle swelling and inflammation.

RECOVERY AND PERFORMANCE

Cryotherapy helps the body recover after intense exercise by flushing out the muscles and delivering oxygen and nutrients to the muscles. Cryotherapy should be added to your current training program to enhance performance. This type of therapy will increase muscular resistance to fatigue and enable the muscles capacity to regenerate resulting in an overall increase in muscular performance.

Cryotherapy improves the general condition of the skin by increasing oxygen and nutrient supply to the skin. Cryotherapy is a treatment process that is known to tighten the skin and prevent wrinkles. During Cryotherapy treatment the skin vessels and capillaries undergo a period of where blood vessels are constricted followed by vasodilatation upon finishing the session.
